Austin Food Challenge Taco Tourney Round 1 Bracket 2

A couple of weeks ago, I was unable to make the second bracket of the Munch Madness Taco Challenge from Austin Food Challenge (you can check out our coverage of theAustin Food & Wine Festival here, which happened the same weekend). Below is the updated bracket as well as some photos from the last event. Congrats to Jennifer Sherburn who performed her 90 Knots production at the Fusebox Festival Saturday, May 5th.This month, AFC will have new challenges with pizza & brisket, as well as an other round of Munch Madness . From Statesman.com - Another area code for Austin? By Laylan Copelin | Wednesday, May 2, 2012, 10:40 AM Central Texas could be getting a second area code — 737 — to go along with 512. The good news: Existing phone customers would get to keep their 512 numbers. New customers would be given either the last of the 512 code, which is expected to run out in 2013, or the new 737 number. The bad news: All customers would be required to dial 10 digits for local calls and 11 digits for long distance. The Public Utility Commission of Texas is hosting a public hearing on the plan at 9:30 a.m. May 17 on the seventh floor of Travis Building at 1701 N. Austin Food Challenge Taco Tourney Round 1

This past Sunday I participated in the Austin Food Challenge's Taco Munch Madness Round 1. For those unfamiliar with AFC, here is a little break down of what it is and how it works: AFC puts some of Austin's best foods against each other in a blind taste test where selected Austin foodies get to vote on which is their favorite. To participate in this food challenge all you have to do is go to their site and register.The Monday before the scheduled event, names are picked at random to participate in that week’s challenge. AFC not only puts some of Austin’s best foes against each other, but each event is a fundraiser for a local visual artist, where all proceeds go to a selected local artist to help them raise money for an upcoming project.
