For those of you that are kicking off the work week, I've got something that will allow you to hit the "pause" button on the day and go back to a time before meetings, paperwork, and sitting in traffic on I-35.

For your random facts on July 31st, I have for you:

On this day in 1971, James Taylor went to No.1 on the US singles chart with the Carole King song 'You've Got A Friend. The song won the 1971 Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal male Performance and Song Of The Year.

It was in 1982 that we learned what it meant to have the "Eye of the Tiger" courtesy of Survivor when the song went to No. 1 in the US. Actor Sylvester Stallone comissioned the theme for the movie Rocky III soundtrack and it went on to recieve an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.

Today in 1976, Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear The Reaper" and Orleans' "Still The One" were released.

Closing everything out is author J.K. Rowling, mother of all things Harry Potter, who is celebrating her 52nd birthday today.
