#WhatHappenedWednesday: The Beatles Walked Across Abbey Road, U2 went #1, and Guns 'N' Roses caused a riot

BOB is a man with many interests and one of them is history - specifically pop culture. Check out a few pieces of BOB's knowledge of what's happened on this day!

  • Hard rock fans praised the music gods in 1983 when Metallica released "Whiplash" as their first single! Now, you'll be able to catch them for weekend one and two of the Austin City Limits Music Festival both October 5-7 and October 12-14.

  • We hope that in the time since “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” hit #1 on this day in 1987, U2 finally found whatever it was that was missing.  This day is extra special for the band because it's also the birthday of bassist The Edge.
  • Guns 'N' Roses fans in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, rioted on this day in 1992 after lead singer Axl Rose cut a concert short because of a sore throat. They managed to cause $300,000 in damage!!
