Starbucks officially released their pumpkin spice latte on a hot summer day. This is one of the earliest times the coffee shop has brought back the famous beverage, and there’s a particular reason as to why.
Around this time last year, product sales for pumpkin flavorings reached about $7 million. With Starbucks, the pumpkin spice latte craze began 16 years ago, and since that time, the pumpkin-flavored industry has increased to a $600 million market, according to Nielson.
