Easter in Austin is a beautiful day best spent outside!
And if you’ve got kids, it’s also one of the easiest weekends of the year to keep them entertained without doing too much.

Visit The Animals
If your kids are more into animals than candy (or just need a break from all the sugar), Austin zoo is perfect. Its smaller, more interactive and way less overwhelming than bigger zoos.
You can also swing by Mayfield Park – which isn’t exactly an Easter event, but the peacocks kind of steal the show anyway.
Picnic Weather is Back
Sometimes, though, the best plan is no plan. Grab food, a blanket, and head back to Zilker Park or even Auditorium Shores. Let the kids run around, throw a frisbee, maybe sneak in your own mini egg hunt.
Whatever you choose, Easter in Austin doesn’t have to be complicated. Between all the city parks, the hot weather and a few well-placed golden eggs, you’ve already got everything you need. Just don’t forget to pace yourself and all the candy!
